It was born in 1975 to, 7th grader, “Bo Blaze” and provided steadfast unwavering service till it was “disconnected” yesterday on 1/18/2011.
9175 (as it was known) was used as a main number for most of it’s life with numerous jacks all over it’s various homes and was even the business number for “Blaze Productions” for many years. The high point of it’s life, was most certainly, the time it carried the voice of “Pete Townshend” in 1986 and the infamous “Bo… who is… Bo Blaze” call of 1988.
As a brand new, stylish, push button, Trimline phone, it pre-dated “call forwarding, 3 way calling and caller ID” and even “portable phones”. It outlived it’s friends the “answering machine” and “caller ID box”
Sadly, in it’s later years it was pushed aside by the popularity of the cellular phone and sat unused as a one line “bedroom phone” that cruelly had it’s long distance calling plan removed.
It was a member of the “do not call list” and until it’s recent demise, the “yellow pages”.
It is survived by an ailing “main line that is only kept alive by the fact that it is needed to use FIOS”, “2 cell phones” & “the VOIP business lines”.
